3D Tooth and Implant
3D module for dental clinic websites
An interactive 3D module that plugs into any dental clinic’s site: the patient takes a tooth and an implant apart, sees the layers in section and the implant piece by piece, picks a crown material and sends that choice to WhatsApp. Live on the 3D Dental Centre site.
Problem :
Before an implant, patients ask the same questions: what is inside a tooth, what an implant is made of, how crowns differ. Words and flat pictures explain this poorly, so the first conversation with the clinic starts from zero.
Solution :
A dark “X-ray room” page with a pinned 3D model that changes by itself as you scroll through the chapters: the whole tooth, its layers in section (any layer can be hidden), the implant assembled or apart (Osstem and Straumann as examples) and the crown in metal-ceramic, zirconia or E-max. The model turns with a finger, and tapping a part names it. At the end the page sums up the choice and opens WhatsApp with a ready message. No prices: the clinic sets the plan and the price after an examination.
My Role :
Concept, 3D scene, texts and build in three languages (English, Greek, Russian). The module is a separate page that is added to a clinic’s existing site with its own menu item; the live example runs on the 3D Dental Centre site.
Process :
I split the tooth, the implant and the crown into separate parts of one model so each can be shown, hidden or moved apart, tied the camera and the visible parts to the chapter in the middle of the screen, kept every description to one or two plain sentences and tested rotation and taps on phones.
Outcome :
A module any clinic can add to its site, so a patient comes to the consultation already knowing what an implant consists of and which crown they lean towards, while the clinic receives that choice in the first WhatsApp message.
Tech Stack :
Next.js + TypeScript, plain three.js: the tooth, the implant and the crown are built in code, part by part, so every layer can be hidden or cut. The chapters switch the model as they reach the middle of the screen, the WhatsApp text is built from the chosen system and crown. Animations use only transform and opacity.
